System Quest is local-first. Your goals, notes, reflections, progress, and Health Connect data stay on your device. Optional online party, diagnostics, advertising, and remote-template features are explained below.
This policy applies to the Android app System Quest: Level Up Life (package com.marost.systemquest), provided by MarOst. Contact: imad.m.zahi@gmail.com.
The app may store challenge titles, quest and task text, notes and reflections, XP, streaks, completion history, reminders, focus sessions, settings, and user-created backups in Android private app storage. No account is required for the core app. This data is not uploaded by the core app. You can delete it from Home → Data & Recovery → Delete Data, or by uninstalling the app. Exported backups remain wherever you choose to save or share them.
Health Connect is optional. After your explicit permission, System Quest reads only your daily step total to verify progress for eligible step-based Body Quests. A daily aggregate may be stored locally; raw health records are not copied. Health data is never uploaded, sold, used for advertising or diagnostics, or shared with party members. It never awards XP or completes a quest without your explicit action. You can pause sync in the app or revoke access in Health Connect at any time. System Quest is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
If you choose Online Party, Firebase may process an anonymous installation user ID, your chosen display name, party name or pledge, invite code, member IDs, date, completed-day count, total XP, streak, and an optional check-in message. These details are used to create, join, synchronize, and display the party and are visible to members of the party you join. Firebase and Google Cloud process this information for us. Your core goals, tasks, notes, reflections, and Health Connect data are never uploaded to Online Party.
Analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring are off by default and controlled by one in-app diagnostics switch. If you opt in, Google Firebase may process feature-use events, app/session/device metadata, coarse location inferred by providers from IP address, crash logs, diagnostics, performance metrics, and installation or device identifiers. We do not attach goals, notes, names, check-in messages, or health data to diagnostic events. Turning the switch off stops future collection, resets the app's Analytics identifier, and removes unsent crash reports from the device. Data already processed by a provider follows that provider's retention rules.
The free app uses Google AdMob and Google's consent platform. Depending on your region and choices, Google and its advertising partners may process IP-derived coarse location, ad and app interactions, diagnostics, and device or advertising identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, security, and limited personalization. In regions where required, a consent form is shown and privacy choices remain available in the app. We do not send your goals, notes, health data, party messages, or chosen display name to AdMob.
The app can download a public JSON catalog of quest templates hosted on GitHub. The network request may expose standard connection information, such as IP address and device or browser metadata, to GitHub. No local goal, note, progress, or health data is sent with this request.
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose data to: members of a party you deliberately join; Google/Firebase/AdMob as service providers; GitHub for public-template delivery; or authorities when legally required. Service providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Off-device traffic uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Local app data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Online Party data is retained while needed to operate the party and service. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Local data: use Home → Data & Recovery → Delete Data, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app.
Online Party data: email imad.m.zahi@gmail.com with the subject “System Quest data deletion” and include your party display name and six-character invite code so we can locate the matching record. We will delete the matching Firebase user/profile, party membership, and check-ins within 30 days. Shared party content may be retained only where needed for remaining members or legal/security obligations; otherwise it is removed.
Diagnostics and ads: turn off diagnostics and use the in-app ad privacy options to control future processing. Provider-retained data is governed by the provider's retention and deletion controls.
You can decline or revoke Health Connect, notifications, diagnostics, and advertising consent without losing core local quest features. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, object to, restrict, or delete personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
System Quest is not directed to children under the age required for independent consent in their country. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data. Contact us if you believe a child supplied personal data so we can remove it.
We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The date at the top will show the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the app or store listing when appropriate.
